Identity
For too long, the cultural narrative around parenthood—and motherhood specifically—has suggested that being a good parent requires complete self-sacrifice. This outdated expectation often takes a toll on mental health, with ripple effects that impact the entire family.
While being a parent is a deeply significant part of your identity, it shouldn’t be your only identity. I firmly believe that to show up as the parent you aspire to be, you must prioritize your own well-being—a concept often misunderstood as being "selfish." In reality, setting aside time for your own interests, relationships, and passions is essential.
If you have been feeling a bit lost in the transition to parenthood, I would love to help you rediscover and prioritize the multifaceted person you are beyond your role as a parent.
